In the morning, when his mother opened her eyes, she was surprised to see her son standing beside her with a glass of water. Tears filled her eyes as she realized how much love and devotion Bayazid had for her. She raised her hands and prayed for him.

এক রাতে, যুবক বায়েজিদ বোস্তামি পড়াশোনা করছিলেন। হঠাৎ তাঁর মা জেগে উঠলেন এবং এক গ্লাস পানি চাইলেন। কোনোরকম দ্বিধা না করে, বায়েজিদ পানি আনতে গেলেন। কিন্তু দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, ঘরে কোনো পানি ছিল না।
বায়েজিদ চাচ্ছিলেন না যে তিনি মাকে আবার জাগিয়ে পানি না থাকার কথা বলুক। তাই তিনি একটি কলসি নিয়ে পাশের কূপে গেলেন। রাতটা ছিল অন্ধকার এবং ঠান্ডা, কিন্তু তিনি নিজের কষ্টের কথা ভাবেননি। অনেকটা পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে অবশেষে তিনি পানি নিয়ে ফিরলেন।
ফিরে এসে দেখলেন, তাঁর মা আবার ঘুমিয়ে গেছেন। তিনি মাকে বিরক্ত করতে চাইলেন না, তাই পানির গ্লাস গ্লাস হাতে তাঁর বিছানার পাশে দাড়িয়ে রইলেন। ঘন্টার পর ঘন্টা কেটে গেল , কিন্তু বায়েজিদ দাড়িয়ে রইলেন, যেন মায়ের ঘুম ভাঙলেই তাঁকে পানি দিতে পারেন।
সকালে যখন তাঁর মা ঘুম থেকে উঠলেন, তখন ছেলেকে পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে বিস্মিত হলেন। তাঁর চোখে জল এসে গেল, ছেলের ভালোবাসা ও ভক্তি দেখে। তিনি দু,হাত তুলে বায়েজিদের জন্য দোয়া করলেন।
পরবর্তীতে বায়েজিদ বোস্তামি একজন মহান অলী হয়ে উঠেছিলেন, যনি তার সাধুতা ও ভক্তির জন্য খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। মায়ের প্রতি ভালোবাসা ও সম্মান তাঁকে আর্শীবাদ এনে দিয়েছিল এবং ইতিহাসে তাঁকে একটি কিংবদন্তি ব্যক্তিত্বে পরিণত করেছিল।
